Schroon Lake, NY - William "Bill" Dickinson of Schroon Lake, N.Y., died on Nov. 12, 2025; he was 84 years old. He was born Sept. 5, 1941, the youngest of three sons born to Robert R. Dickinson and Eleanor A (Peasley) Dickinson.
Born and raised in Ticonderoga, N.Y., he was a graduate of Ticonderoga High School, Class of 1959. After graduation he attended Albany Business College, graduating in 1961. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964. During his service he had the opportunity to serve in various duty stations and assignments in Korea, Japan and Thailand. In addition to his military service, he enjoyed working for Cooke & Sacco in Ticonderoga, N.Y., as a CPA for John H. Mulholland in Ticonderoga and Plattsburgh and Bayview Dairy in Plattsburgh, N.Y. In 1977 Bill embarked on a remarkable 39-year career with Agency Insurance in Plattsburgh, beginning in accounting and commercial lines production. Through hard work and unwavering dedication, he rose to the position of Senior Vice President—a role he held with distinction until his retirement in 2016. Bill played a pivotal role in the company's growth and success during his tenure. Known for his loyalty and commitment, he was more than a leader; to countless colleagues, he was a trusted mentor and cherished friend whose influence will be felt for years to come.
In retirement, Bill enjoyed traveling and visited many destinations in the US, Canada, and Mexico. He sailed through the Panama Canal visiting Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Not to mention Dominican Republic, Australia, and New Zealand; as well as various cruises.
Bill is survived by his wife, Marion E. Dickinson. His children, Stephen Dickinson (Beth) of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Sarah Wiggin (Khaien Donawa) of Kensington, N.H. His grandchildren, Tessa Zenon (Jacob) and Jack Dickinson of Mission Viejo, Calif., as well as Liam and Jacob Wiggin of Kensington, N.H. Nephews Jeff Dickinson (Pam) of Peru, N.Y., and Rick Dickinson of San Bernardino, Calif. Stepsons Leonard Coonradt (Roxanne) of Schroon Lake, N.Y., and Raymond Coonradt of East Nassau, N.Y. Brother-in-law Robert French (Ruth) of Taberton, N.Y., and a large extended family.
Bill was predeceased by his parents; and his brother and sister-in-law, Robert P. and Patricia Dickinson; and his brother, Stanley S. Dickinson.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga, from 1 to 3 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial with military honors will take place in the spring at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
