Veronica Marie Rowe Obituary

Veronica Marie Rowe, a beacon of warmth, kindness, and unwavering love, departed this world peacefully on Nov. 28th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was 79.

Born on Sept. 16, 1944, at her home in Ellenburg Depot, N.Y., Veronica was the cherished daughter of Philip Taylor and Frances M. Gauthier Taylor. Her life was a tapestry of dedication to her faith, family, community service, and professional accomplishments.

Veronica's journey as a devoted wife and mother began with her three children before she joined her life with Gaylord G. Rowe, becoming a stepmother to his children. Family and friends were the cornerstones of her existence.

Throughout her life, Veronica actively participated in community service. She was an esteemed member of the United Methodist Church, took on the role of Chairperson for Multiple Class Reunions of Ellenburg Central School's Class of 1963, and served as the Twice Matron for the local Order of the Eastern Star, Mt. Hermon Chapter 653. Her passion for family history led her to collaborate on Miller-Gauthier family memoirs, organize the first Gauthier family reunion, and delve into the genealogy of the Taylor-Hicks side of her family.

Veronica's professional journey began at Camp Treetops in Lake Placid, and she later worked in various roles, including Comptroller for Rowe Brothers Ford for an impressive 33 years after marrying Gaylord G. Rowe. Her commitment to her work mirrored her dedication to her community and family.

A woman of many talents, Veronica expressed her creativity through quilting, winning numerous awards for her exquisite creations. She also shared her love for cross-country skiing, bike riding, water aerobics and cake decorating. As a member of the American Sewing Guild of Ocala, Fla., she enriched her skills and fostered her passion for sewing.

Veronica is survived by her children: Jayce Ashline and his wife Janet, Tanya Mulka and her husband Steven, and Trevor Ashline and his wife Shari. Stepchildren include Brooke Rowe and his wife Conney, Beth Williams and her husband Trevor. Her legacy continues through 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings: B-Ann Dubois, Alice Noble, Andree LaBarge, Robert Taylor, and William Taylor. Veronica is preceded in death by her parents, Philip Taylor and Frances M. Gauthier, and her brother, Philip B. Taylor.

In honor of Veronica's memory, the family kindly requests that, instead of flowers, donations be made to St. Edmund's Catholic Church in Ellenburg and/or the Ellenburg Depot Fire Department. Veronica's spirit of generosity and love will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched. May she live eternally with the love of God and His everlasting joy of heaven surrounded by the angels, saints.
