Venita L. "Tina" Hotaling
She was born in Hume, N.Y., on March 7, 1952, the daughter of Arthur and Esther (Alm) Northrup. She graduated from Ichabod Crane High School in 1970.
Tina as she was fondly referred to held many positions throughout her work career. She began working at Page for United Nations and went on to NY Theogical Semenary in Manhattan, Hamilton Printing Company in Castleton, the Willsboro Diner, Mountain View Restaurant, and she did In Home Daycare for many years; changing the lives of many daycare kids. She worked at the Champlain Angler, Carriage House Garden Center, and lastly Willsboro Outdoor World.
In her free time Tina enjoyed gardening, decorating her house, and arts and crafts. She enjoyed Christmas as that was her favorite season. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family at their annual parties, going out on the boat, summer time yard saleing, and the races, but most of all camping and vacations. She loved going shopping with her best friend, Judy and she always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Left to cherish the memory of Tina are, her loving husband of nearly 33 years, James J. Hotaling, whom she married Feb. 22, 1986, in Nassau at the United Methodist Church; two children and their spouses, Thomas (Kathy) Sampson of Mineville, and Kristen (Caleb) Massey of Willsboro; seven grandchildren, Emily, Jarred, Carolyn (Jeremy), Juliauna, Jonathan, Angelina, and Ryker; one great-grandchild, Alaina; siblings and their spouses, Paul (Carolyn) Northrup of Valatie, Sue (Arlie "Jeep") Bennett of Geneseo, and Christine (Michael) McCauliffe of Willsboro and Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews; and her little buddy, Jr.
Tina was predeceased by her parents; and foster brother, William (Billy) VanGuilder.
There will be no public calling hours. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Westport Bible Church, 24 Youngs Road, Westport, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Willsboro EMS/Fire Department.
