Tammy Lee (DeCoste) Holbrook
Tammy Lee (DeCoste) Holbrook, 55, of State Route 11, Mooers, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.
Tammy was born Sept. 17th, 1964, in Plattsburgh, the daughter of the late Joseph "Esmond" DeCoste and Doris Pelkey. Tammy grew up in Fort Ann and Mooers. From a young child there was nothing Tammy liked better than to spend time picking blueberries or listening to the Yankees games with her father. Tammy graduated from NCCS in 1982.
She worked for and managed Independent Products Inc in Champlain for many years. Tammy's love of learning led her back to college as an adult, achieving high honors even while battling chronic kidney disease. In recent years Tammy found her true calling working with children at Northern Adirondack Central School. She had a heart of gold.
Tammy cherished time spent with her husband Norm, traveling to New Hampshire, Maine, or Florida. Through the many obstacles Tammy faced Norm was always lovingly by her side. Tammy loved her mother and enjoyed planning fun activities for the two of them. Tammy truly was the caretaker of her family. She organized holiday get to-gethers and hosted family parties. Playing cards at her house will forever be one of her family's most cherished memories. Tammy had a special relationship with all of her nieces and nephews who could always count on her to be there. Ryleigh, her great-niece, had a very special place in her heart. Over the years Tammy gave her love to her dogs and cats, adopting many a stray. Tammy had a great love of life and lived it the way God intended, helping others.
Tammy is survived by her beloved husband Norman Holbrook; stepson, Shane Holbrook; mother, Doris DeCoste; brother, Joseph DeCoste; sisters, Mary DeCoste, Sarah (Clarence, Jr.) Ashline, TJ DeCoste, and Kim (Frank) Gonyea; nieces, Crystal Smith, Angela (Josh) Coger, Michele DeCoste, Melissa (Andrew) Morgan, Brandie (Scott) Hawley, Olivia DeCoste; and one nephew, Wyatt Rivers. Tammy also leaves behind great-nephews, Trent, Brayden, Cohen, and Gage; great-nieces, Ryleigh, Emberlynn, and Stella, as well as another great-niece or great-nephew on the way.
Tammy was predeceased by her father Joseph "Esmond" DeCoste.
Tammy will be missed by her family as well as those whose lives she touched with her kindness.
