Stephen M. Dubrey, 59, passed away at home on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

He was born Dec. 4, 1964, in Plattsburgh, to Isreal and Anna (Lashway) Dubrey.

He graduated from Northern Adirondack Central School. Stephen served the State of New York at various facilities as a Corrections Officer and retired as a Lieutenant at Clinton Correctional Facility in 2015 after serving 27 years.

He enjoyed Sunday suppers with the family but most of all spending time with his two grandsons.

Stephen is survived by his loving and caring wife of 36 years, Jane (Roberts) Dubrey and his son Cory Dubrey and his wife Leah and grandsons, Eli and Jayden of Chazy Lake. He also leaves behind, sisters, Marie Trudeau of Florida, Olive Brelia, Elizabeth Bashaw of Albany, Joan Helmick of Texas, Joyce Surace of Watertown, Margaret and Tom Schmidt of Kingston, Mae and Jim Guay of Altona, Susan Winnie of Cooperstown, and Donna Taylor of Chazy Lake; mother-in-law, Janet Roberts of Mooers; sister-in-law, Joy and Barton Vanleuvan of Mooers; nieces, Jenna Sequin and Jessica Hanson of Rouses Point as well as many other nieces and nephews; and his fur babies Shelby and Kiana.

He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Isreal (Bill); sister, Athelie Lashway; brothers-in-law, Walter Lashway, Clarence Trudeau, Howard Brelia, Robert Bashaw, Sam Surace, Lee Winnie, and Jerry Taylor; and father-in-law Ronald Roberts.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 12 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora.
