Scott Allan Pelkey

Scott Allan Pelkey, 60, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born on Aug. 15, 1964, to Arthur and Gladys (Drake) Pelkey in Keene, N.Y.
He attended AVCS and worked as a carpenter in his brother's company, Pelkey Builders, a trade he was proud to share with him. Scott loved the outdoors from riding his 4-wheeler with his son Matthew which they enjoyed, to fishing, traveling, a true adventurer at heart. He had a special love for his cats Sylvester and Mama, and was a big wrestling fan, never missing a match. He loved spending time with family, bringing laughter to all who were around him.
He is preceded by his parents, his brother Kenneth, and his sister Christine.
Left to cherish the memory of Scott are his children: Derrick (Nicole) Pelkey, Ashley Pelkey, Sara (Brian) Blaise, Jerrica Pelkey, Katy Pelkey, and Matthew Pelkey; his siblings Ernest (Debra) Pelkey, Wayne (Wanda) Pelkey, and Brenda (Paul) Ero; his significant other, Jackie Trombley, who brought love, laughter, and companionship to his life; his several grandchildren, nephews, and nieces and a good friend, Billy Kusalonis.
Scott was a proud grandfather, uncle, and friend to many and held a special place in his heart for all of them.
Scott will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family kindly requests donations be made in Scott's honor to the Elmore SPCA, PO Box 686, Peru, NY 12972.
There will be a graveside service at a later date.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Orders placed in:

January - May

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.

June - December

Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
