Rudolph "Rudy" C. Brouwer Obituary

Rudolph Cornelis Brouwer, aka Rudy, passed away on March 12th in Hospice care, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Den Haag, Netherlands on March 14, 1956 to the late Jan Cornelis Brouwer and Victorina Nagtegaal-Brouwer.


Rudy began working for an insurance company in the Netherlands before being drafted into the Dutch Army where he served as a Sargeant in the Communications Dept. Upon completion of his service, he worked for the Justice Dept in Den Haag for 20 years before immigrating to the US. Rudy met his loving wife, Bunny on the Widowers network. After 17 visits to the US in a two-year period, Rudy married Bunny in Delft, Netherlands in April of 1998.


For 20 years, he was employed by NERIC as a Senior Computer Network Technician at Willsboro and Crown Point Schools. Upon retirement in 2018, Rudy continued to work as a technology consultant at Crown Point School until his diagnosis in June 2024. He also volunteered for the Interfaith Food Shelf and OLV's Harvest Dinner, and was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Parish.

Formula 1 racing, soccer, woodworking and gardening, were among his hobbies. "If Opa can't fix it then no one can!" was the motto on a sign created by his children.


Rudy is survived by his wife of 27 years, Angela(Bunny) Esposito, 4 sons: Dennis Brouwer(Liliana), Thomas and Aram DeGroot, Samuel Esposito(Kaylee); a stepson: Stephen Esposito(Tracey); 2 stepdaughters: Angela and Pamela Esposito; 2 grandsons: Mathew, Jack; 3 granddaughters: Evelyn, Alaia, Zoe; a great-grandson, Arthur; a sister Ineke(Ruud) Weber; a brother-in-law Robert John; and several nieces and nephews.


Rudy had incredible courage, empathy, generosity and a sense of humor that lit up a room. He was a man of many talents especially technology and treasured his family and friends. He touched the lives of all those that were fortunate enough to have known him.


Calling hours will be held, Monday, March 17th from 4-6 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory Parish on Tuesday, March 18th at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to the Interfaith Food Shelf on Beekman St; Hospice of the North Country or The ARC Foundation.
