Ronald Ryan Obituary
Ronald Ryan, 90, formerly of the Plank Road, passed away on Sunday, January 23rd at the Clinton County Nursing Home.
Ronald was the fourth of fifteen children born to William and Katherine (Lord) Ryan. He and his siblings shared a mischievous sense of humor, and that trademark humor was on regular display for his family, friends and caregivers.
After growing up on the family farm, Ronald worked various jobs in agriculture and helped construct the St. Lawrence Seaway. He found his vocation in auto repair and spent the last twenty-five years of his career operating his own shop. For many years after retirement he continued to enjoy numerous building and repair projects, along with "puttering around" in the garage.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn Ryan; their children Mark (Mary) Ryan, Daniel Ryan and John Ryan; and two grandchildren, Megan (Nathan) Ranck and Maura Ryan.
Surviving siblings are: Wayne (Wilberta) Ryan, Dale (Judy) Ryan, Sandra (Robert) Vievia, Edward (Dianne) Ryan, Roger (Cindy) Ryan, Linda Ryan, Billy Ryan and Terry (Linda) Ryan.
He is also survived by his many in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends he made throughout the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edwin Ryan and Gary Ryan; and four sisters, Margaret Meagher, Barbara Gero, Jo Anne Jungers and Shirley Cashman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg.
Interment will take place in the spring in the parish cemetery.
