Plattsburgh, NY - Robert Jesse Llewellyn, 54, of Plattsburgh and formerly of Peru, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at his home with his loving wife by his side.

Rob was born the son of Robert P. and Nida (Bowen) Llewellyn on Nov. 25, 1970, at the Plattsburgh Air Force Base.

He grew up in Peru, attended and graduated from Peru Central School, and played on the Peru Varsity football team.

Rob married the love of his life, Dawn Swangel, on June 10, 2022, in Plattsburgh.

Rob worked at Champlain Centre's Burger King and Wong Kwon Chinese restaurant and Treadwell Mills Dam in his younger years. Lastly, Robert was employed at Plattco Corp. for approximately 20 years, where he ran the furnace.

Rob greatly enjoyed hiking and camping in the Adirondacks, fishing the area's rivers and lakes, reading nonfiction and fiction history books, and listening to and attending heavy metal concerts (particularly Clutch). His main passion in life was his gaming where he met the love of his life, Dawn, and all of his gaming buddies. He loved his kittens, dog and family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Robert (Bob) and Nida Llewellyn.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Swangel Llewellyn; sisters, Gloria Llewellyn, and Brenda (Harry) Smith of Peru; stepson, Kealoha Gumahad of Arkansas; mother-in-law, Mary Limon of Kona, Hawaii; nieces, Kayla Smith of Astoria, N.Y., and Heather (Josh) Lavigne of Cadyville, N.Y.; nephew, Brandon (Carrie) Smith of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; great-niece, Sarah Lavigne; great-nephews, Wyatt Lavigne, Keegan Smith, Kalib Smith and Kayden Smith; and cousin, Rosemary Jankowiak of Willamsport, Pa.

A Celebration of Rob's life will be held Sunday, May 25th, from 12 to 5 p.m. If interested, contact a family member for the location. No RSVP needed. Bring a lawn chair!
