CHAMPLAIN - Real A. "Pe-Pe" Richard, 79, of 11 Glass Road, Champlain, passed away as a result of an accident at his home on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at the UVHN-CVPH Medical Center surrounded by his family.. Real was born in Canada, the son of the late Elzear and Germaine (Mailloux) Richard. Real was not only a local dairy farmer, he spent many years with Harris Graphics, but his true passion was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also had a passion for his draft horses, working them on the farm and in competitions, especially Shorty and Bill.. Survivors include his children, Ms. Suzanne Thompson of Tucson, Ariz., Ms. Bonnie Grassi of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ms. Lisa Bartlett of Glens Falls, N.Y.; his stepchildren, Gary and Marsha Sorrell of Altona, Larry and Donna Sorrell, James Sorrell, all of Champlain, Paula and Albert Ashline of Mooers, Tammy and Anthony Camera of Hemmingford, Quebec; as well as 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Mrs. Richard (Rita) Smith of St. Albans, Vt.; his sisters-in-law, Mrs. Norman (Rita) Richard and Mrs. Leo (Doris) Richard of Champlain; brother and sister-in-law, Irving and Stacey Guerin of Mooers; sister-in-law, Ms. Donna Lefebvre of St. Chrystome, Quebec, and Mrs. Ernest (Gail) Guerin of North Carolina.. In addition to his parents, Real was predeceased by his loving wife Marion (Guerin) Richard; stepson, Andre (Bedard) Richard; brothers, Norman and Leo Richard; sister, Arlene and Richard Eddie; sister and brother-in-law, Helene and Lorenzo Cote; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Barbara Guerin; nephews, Richard (Dickie) Eddie Jr., Jason Guerin and David Richard.. Friends are asked to please join his family in a celebration of his life at St. Mary's Church in Champlain at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 15.. Donations in Real's memory may be made to the St. Mary's Church building fund, P.O. Box 368, Champlain, NY 12919.. Arrangements are in the care of the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers.
