Randall started out as a miner in Mineville, Gouverneur and Tahawas, N.Y., and transitioned over to a safety inspector with the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), where he inspected nearly every type of mine along the eastern seaboard, to include coal. He was also a certified Electrical Inspector. His final career assignment was Supervisor with the MSHA Field Office in Geneva, N.Y., retiring in 2010. Through his efforts he has prevented countless injuries and fatalities in the Mining and Industrial Industries.

Randall and Carolyn were high school sweethearts who did everything together. He loved his grandchildren and great-granddaughter and all his family. Randall was a resilient man, who always put his family first.
