Paul Steber passed away on July 11, 2024, at his home in Chandler, Ariz., after an extended illness. Paul was born on Nov. 1, 1948, to Andrew and Freda Steeber in Shickshinny, Pa. He graduated from Northwest High in 1966 and enlisted in the US Air Force. Paul married Connie Lamay in 1970 at St. Mary's Church in Fort Covington, N.Y.

After serving four years in the Air Force, he began employment with SUNY at Plattsburgh as a Stationary Engineer in the Heating Dept from 1970 until 1995. He moved to Arizona in 1995 and was employed with Clean Harbor Environmental Company until his retirement in 2013.

Paul was a dedicated father and is survived by his two sons, Christopher and his wife, Angie Steber of Florence, Ariz., and Neal and Lindsey Steber of Scottsdale, Ariz. He has two grandchildren, Kaitlin and her husband Joseph Belvo of Ohio and Jacob Steber of Florence, Ariz., four step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren. He has three brothers, Michael and wife Pat, Leonard of Shickshinny, Pa., and Andrew and Sharon of Mocanaqua, Pa., and two sisters, Mary and George Hmelak of Berwick, Pa., and Irene and Joseph Lukashewski of Wapwallon, Pa., and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, first wife Margaret, and brother Edward Steber.

Paul was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Some of his favorite moments were as an assistant coach with the Little League organization.
