Ellenburg, NY - Nancy V. Bishop, 86, of Ellenburg, died Friday, April 25, 2025, at CVPH Medical Center.

Born on Feb. 19, 1939, at home in the Town of Ellenburg on the Bradley Pond Road, she was the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Ormsbee) Vreeland.

She married William Wells Bishop on July 5, 1959, at the Ellenburg Center Methodist Church by Rev. Samuel Livingstone. He predeceased her on July 31, 2015.

Nancy graduated from Ellenburg High School with the Class of 1957 and attended Hartwick College in Oneonta. She was employed at Wyeth Ayerst Laboratories (Pfizer) in Rouses Point, N.Y., retiring after 30 plus years as personnel director. Nancy enjoyed camping, photography, canoeing and traveling with her husband.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Chase of Chateaugay Lake; nieces, Brenda Wilcox (Hubert), Shirley Chase (Marianna Molenda), Holly Chase and nephew, Michael Vreeland. Additionally, she is survived by brother-in-law, Jim Bishop Sr., nieces and nephew, Julie Furst (Peter), Jim Bishop Jr. (Laura), Laurie Bishop and Patti Kasko (Steve).

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, John and Ross Vreeland; two nephews, John and Donald Vreeland.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Thursday, May 1, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Brainardsville Community Center.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Ellenburg Center Fire Department or the World Wildlife Fund.
