Milton Donald Haynes (Milt) Obituary
Valhalla, NY - Milton Donald Haynes, age 71, of Essex, N.Y., passed away on July 13, 2026, at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y. Milt was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., to Milton B. and Rowena Haynes on Dec. 4, 1954. He grew up in Keeseville and graduated from AuSable Valley High School in 1973. He started work at the Plattsburgh Foundry (Plattco) right after graduation, working in the Steel Center for most of his tenure, until his retirement in 2016.
Milt married the love of his life, Donna Depuy, in February 1979. They enjoyed 47 years of love together, never failing to stand by and support each other through life's trials and tribulations. She was his queen and he was her king.
Milt is survived by his wife, two daughters and their significant others, Tina Martino (Donald) and Angel Forbes (Marc), two grandchildren, Elijah Reid and Jansen Haynes, and a sister and brother-in-law, Phyless and Dan Schreiber. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Forest Haynes and sister Betty Crowningshield.
Milt will be remembered most for his sense of humor and his beard, shaved only once in 53 years. In keeping with Milt's wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to the Essex Community Church, PO Box 125, Essex, NY 12936 or ReNew, 3922 NYS RT 22, Willsboro, NY 12996.
