Michael Lawrence Daley of Peru, N.Y., passed away peacefully at his home on Sept. 16, 2024, at age 85. Michael is survived by Ila Ann Daley, his beloved wife of 57 years, and his four children, Kelly, Amy, Mike and Meghan. Mike is also survived by seven wonderful grandchildren, whom he adored (Jenna, Joe, Katherine, Ethan, Brooke, Cate, and Hailey).

Mike worked at Peru Central School for over 30 years.

Mike is best remembered for the kindness he extended to everyone he met, whether his family, friends, students, neighbors, or staff at his favorite shops and restaurants. Always thinking of others, Mike would be quick to help when he saw a need, often with donuts in hand. Mike loved his many pets, even the local birds and squirrels.

Mike will be dearly missed. As he would often say about the things he loved, Mike, himself was truly "the best."

Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home. Calling hours are on Thursday, September 26th, from 3 to 5 p.m., with a service immediately following. Family and friends are invited to gather at Valcour Brewing Company on Friday, September 27th, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northeast chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation.
