Louise Bernadette Tedford, age 76, of Mercy Skilled Nursing Facility in Tupper Lake, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, with her loving family by her side.

Louise was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on March 25, 1944, the daughter of Bernard and Laura (Rasco) Smart. She married the love of her life, Clyde Rascoe who predeceased her.

Louise was a lifelong resident of the Adirondack. She loved the outdoor especially camping, waterskiing, fishing and gardening. She loved the sun and spending time with her family.

Louise is survived by her son: David (Kimberly) Rascoe of Saranac Lake, N.Y., two sisters: Judy (Norm) Taylor of Saranac, N.Y., and Pauline Smart of West Chazy, N.Y., and two brothers: Lawrence and Wayne Smart of High Banks, N.Y. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Jake (Samantha) Holmes, David Rascoe Jr., and Kylie Rascoe as well as two great-grandchildren: Zoey and Lily Holmes and a third great-grandson on the way: Jake Holmes Jr., due in June 2021.

In addition to her husband Clyde, Louise was preceded in death by her father and mother, her son Kevin Rascoe, her sister Ann Bruso and her brother Donald Smart. Louise was also predeceased by her granddaughter Harlie Roscoe.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. Calling hours will take place at the funeral home on Friday, March 5, 2021, from 2 until 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at St. Bernard's Church at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Patrick A. Ratigan officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
