Mary Lou McKinney, 88, of New Hampshire Rd., Plattsburgh, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Plattsburgh on May 25, 1936, the daughter of Frank and Hazel (Gordon) Russo.

Mary Lou graduated Salutatorian of her class at Chazy Central Rural School.

She married Milburn E. McKinney; they celebrated 64 years of marriage before his death in August of 2019.

She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown, then she enjoyed working at Gus's Red Hots in Plattsburgh and Ting's Restaurant in Dannemora.

Mary Lou liked to keep busy with her hands, doing crafts, crocheting and needle pointing.

Survivors include her sons Terry (Grace) McKinney of Ormond Beach, Fla., Frank (Lynn) McKinney of Morrisonville, Milburn Jr. (Karen) McKinney of Plattsburgh; her daughter Cindy Sibert of Troy, Ill.; brother-in-law John Sullivan of Morrisonville, Carl Hickman of Sarasota, Fla.; grandchildren Danielle Wiedmaier, Matthew McKinney, Morgan McKinney, Andrew Knef, Jessie Huck; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents; husband Milburn; sisters Joan Averill, Jackie Hichman, Rosie Sullivan; brother-in-law James Averill.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
