88, of Champlain, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2025 at home with her family by her side.

"Liz" was born Sept. 10th, 1936, in Plattsburgh to Raymond and Dorothy (Boudreau) Ackey.

Liz is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Boire, of 69 years; her son, Gerald E. Boire and Shari of Champlain; daughters, Linda Rivers and Charles of Warrensburg, Debra Thomas and Christopher of Denver, CO, Mary Ann Rabideau and Ricky of Mooers Forks, Amy Palmer and her companion Michael Patitucci of Peru, Alicia Boire and her companion Jamie Manor of Rouses Point, and Rebecca Boire-West and Jim of West Chazy; a brother, Raymond "Buckie" Ackey of Altona, and sister-in-law, Stella Quelch of Virginia; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Liz worked alongside her husband on their dairy farm while raising their children. She loved the act of preserving the fruits and vegetables of Jerry's Garden and sharing that love with her grandchildren. Her baked goods, especially her pies, were a beloved favorite at the Champlain Bazaar and she was an active member of the Catholic Daughters. Liz's smile would brighten the room no matter where she was. She was strong, caring, considerate, and faithful. We will always carry her love with us and cherish those memories we have made.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025 from 4:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m at the Ross Funeral Home, 196 Elm Street, Champlain, NY 12919. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary's Church on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.

A donation in memory of Mary Elizabeth Boire can be made to St. Mary's Church or to Champlain EMS.
