Malone, NY - Martin (Marty) Joseph Rabideau, 86, of Malone, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Feb. 19, 2026. Born March 3, 1939, in Malone, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He married his high school sweetheart, Audrey Jean (Dupree) Rabideau, on July 4, 1959, with whom he shared sixty-six years of marriage.

Marty grew up on a farm in Burke and, after graduating from Chateaugay Central School, began his career working on the barges at St. Lawrence Seaway. He later moved to Brainardsville, where he purchased the family dairy farm and operated several entrepreneurial ventures, including selling Christmas trees and vegetables from the farm. He founded Rabideau Grocery Store and Rabideau Construction and, upon relocating to Malone, became the owner of the Pub/OTB.

He served as Assemblyman for the Township of Bellmont and was a member of the American Legion, actively supporting veterans. Marty was an avid fan of horse racing, the New York Yankees, and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed traveling and bowling.

He was predeceased by his parents, William Rabideau and Lena (Lawliss) Rabideau, his fifteen siblings, in-laws Roy Dupree and Rita (Dumont Dupree) Rock, and two grandchildren, Michael Harris and Daniel Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Jean (Dupree) Rabideau; daughters Darla Jean Harris (David) of Baton Rouge, La., Rhonda Lee Hilts (Donnie) of Zephyrhills, Fla., Wendy Lou Reil of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; son Dean Martin Rabideau (Cheryl) of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; grandchildren Rex Harris, Derek Hilts, Devin Hilts, Sean Reil, Chelsie Reil, Jake Rabideau, Michael Zeoli, Kyle Zeoli, Brandon Zeoli; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Alice Hyde Hospital for their compassionate care.

A viewing will be held at Saint Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home in Malone, N.Y., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, and graveside service will follow at St. George's Cemetery in Burke, N.Y.
