Marthe Poirier Fountain Obituary

Marthe Poirier Fountain of Sawyer Avenue, Malone, died Thursday, April 21, 2016, at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh.

Born in Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of Ernest Poirier and Rosa Latour.

Marthe came to Malone in October 1956. She was employed at Northern NY Trust in January 1957, which later became Marine Midland Bank. She retired from HSBC Bank in 1998 after 41 years of service.

She was a member of the Ladies of the Elks 1303, the Red Hat Ladies Society, St. Joseph's Altar and Rosary Society and the Ecumenical Christmas Concert.

She is survived by a brother, Roger Poirier and his wife, Colombe of Mont St. Hilaire, Quebec; two sisters, Madeleine Ouellet of Tustin, Calif., and Helene Boileau of Valleyfield, Quebec.

She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Paul, Gille and Guy; and two sisters, Claire and Evette.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 10, at St. Joseph's Church in Malone, with burial following at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lake Titus Road.
