Altona, NY - Marie Alice Boulrice, 83, formerly of Station Street, Altona, died Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Plattsburgh, Oct. 15, 1942, the daughter of Frank Joseph Jr. and Stella Mae (LaBarge) Lashway. She graduated from Altona Central School and attended OLVA Secretarial School.

Marie married Vernon Boulrice on June 2, 1962. He was the love of her life and she missed him very much.

Marie was a secretary for Altona Central School, and then went on to work for Northern Adirondack Central School when they merged with Ellenburg and Lyon Mountain Schools. During her many years at NAC she played various roles. In the business office to the principal's office, she loved all the little children and their hugs.

Marie was a founding member and secretary for the Champlain Valley Antique Gas Engine and Tractor Association. She was the Queen mum of the Altona Jackpine Rockettes branch of the Red Hats. She was a member of the Altona Alumni Association and helped with numerous reunions until her health declined.

Marie was always making something creative which led to her starting "Friendship Crafts," where she did many local craft shows.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Scott Sartwell; grandchildren, Shawn (Maegan) Perkins, Hunter Sartwell (Emily Verrillo), Riley (Moesha) Sartwell; great-grandchildren, Aidan Perkins, and Ava, Emmett and Eleanor Sartwell. She is also survived by her son, Chad (Amy) and his family; and two sisters-in-law, cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Vernon H. Boulrice, 2015; her brother, Francis Lashway; and sister, Cathy Tyler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Church in Altona, with the The Most Reverend Douglas J. Lucia, Bishop of Syracuse, presiding. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Jane's Fight Fund or the Peru Wrestling Booster Club.
