Lucille E. Parsons, 92, of Elm Street, Peru, died Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Elizabethtown, Oct. 11, 1931, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Denton) Soulia. Lucille grew up in Peru and graduated from Peru High School in 1950.

She married John Parsons in 1954 in a small family ceremony. He predeceased her Feb. 23, 1975.

Lucille was a loving and dedicated mother who raised her seven children on her own, following her husband's untimely death. Her youngest child was only two years old, when he passed.

In addition to caring for her own family, she and her daughter also cared for other children in their home throughout the years.

Lucille was an active communicant of St. Augustine's Church over the years and also enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society. Though many of her life-long friends have passed, prior to that she enjoyed spending time with them.

Left to cherish her memory are her seven children, Richard (Kathleen) Miller, Tim Parsons, Ron (Eva) Parsons, Sue (Jim) Irwin, Paul (Marcie) Parsons, Jodi Parsons (Brian Langlois), and Leigh Parsons; grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Alana, Hannah, Courtney, Brandon, Sarah, Kate, Tyler, Jessica, Lucy, Johnny, and Cody; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joanne Brelia; and several nieces and nephews.

In additon to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by siblings, Sheridan (Grace) Soulia, Oliver (Blanche) Soulia, Mary (Rosswell) LaBounty, Peter Brelia, and Josephine (Gary) Howard.

At her request there will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Peru. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Peru Fire Dept.
