Louesa Jennie "Sally" Turner Obituary

Louesa Jennie "Sally" Turner, 80, of Route 11, Mooers, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.


She was born in Malone, April 17, 1944, the daughter of Harold and Olga (LaBelle) Marshall. Sally attended Franklin Academy, graduating from Peru Central School.


She was very active in her church for many years at the Mooers Wesleyan Methodist Church.


Sally was immensely talented at crafts, sewing, and enjoyed making beautiful wreaths, quilts, Christmas ornaments and jewelry. She had a fondness for animals, raising pigeons and many pets through the years. One of notable mention is Echo the fury loveable family dog. She enjoyed her pet cockatoos, snuggling her kitties, Twitchet and Kasey, and spoiling her grand fur baby, Maleka.


Sally enjoyed traveling, camping, and weekly summer campfires, as well as fellowship with many friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.


Survivors include, daughters, Laura Turner and Dawn Cardin (Lawrence); grandson, Dustin Cardin; sister, Beth (Marshall) Groshans; brother-in-law, Bill Groshans; sisters-in-law, Hilda Ferris (Gary), and Margaret Beuerlein; as well as several nieces and nephews.


She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Darwin Turner; her parents, Harold and Olga Marshall; brother, Claude Marshall; and her infant son.


Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. at the Hamilton Funeral home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. A funeral service will follow at Noon at the Wesleyan Methodist Church, 149 Maple Street, Mooers. Burial will be in the spring in the Lakeview Cemetery in Willsboro.


In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Mooers Wesleyan Church Food Pantry.
