Peru, NY - Leonard Lester LaMar, born April 17, 1941, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away Nov. 4, 2025, at CVPH with family by his side. He grew up in the Peru area, later lived in Morrisonville, and eventually settled in Harkness, N.Y. A 1962 Peru High School graduate, he worked at Don G. Orchards and later on a county road crew.

He is survived by his children, Christine and James LaMar; daughter-in-law Jenn LaMar; sister Suzanne Randall; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Mildred LaMar; brother James LaMar; and sisters Betty Brett and Shirley LaMar.

A graveside service will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on May 23, 2026, at St. Augustine Cemetery, 3035 Main St., Peru. A reception will be held from 11 to 12 p.m. on May 23, 2026, at St. Augustine's Parish, 3035 Main St.
