Leon J. Trombley, 91, of Chateaugay, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at the Alice Center, Malone, N.Y.
Born in Ellenburg, N.Y., on July 31, 1924, he was the son of John and Florence (LaClair) Trombley.
He was married to Marcella Barcomb at St. Edmund's Church, Ellenburg. She predeceased him on May 12, 1972.
Mr. Trombley owned and operated the Trombley Family Farm, retiring in 1970. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church.
He is survived by four children, Sandra Feiss and her husband, Grant of Silver Springs, Fla., Sally Martin and her husband, John of Chateaugay, Allen Trombley of Chateaugay, Nancy LaMondie and her husband, Harold "Pal" of Malone; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, Howard Trombley and his wife, Bernice of Brattleboro, Vt.; two sisters-in-law, Anita Trombley McCann of Chateaugay and Annette Trombley of Massena.
Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Erma Kerry in 1950; two brothers, Ross Trombley in 2008 and Clarence Trombley in 2003; and grandson, John Martin in 1982.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, at the Chateaugay Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 14, in St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating.
Burial will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Chateaugay Fire Dept. or Hospice of the North Country.
