Larry R. Wilkins, 79, of w Street, Champlain, died Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at CVPH in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Fairfield, V.T on July 12, 1945, the son of Charles Wayne and Lucille (Parrotte). He was a graduate of Northeastern Central School in 1964. He was also a graduate of the Construction Trades program at CVTEC.

Larry served with the United States Army from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1968. He worked in communications and became a sergeant.

Larry worked for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals for over 40 years prior to retiring. He mostly worked in maintenance, but also worked in his later years as trainer.

He loved watching westerns, eating at the '99 Restaurant, enjoying a cup of Dunkin coffee, traveling to Maine, eating seafood and riding the backroads on his motorcycle and tending to his garden. You could also always find him working on a project in his garage. More than anything, Larry enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren.

Left to cherish the memory of Larry are his sons, John (Sandra) Wilkins and Bryan Wilkins; granddaughter and grandson, Kylie and Ryan Wilkins; brothers, Douglas (Jackie) Wilkins and Dickie Royea; sister, Barbara (Phillip) Patrie and brothers-in-law, Richard (Pauline) Cooke and Donnie Cooke; his aunt, Dede Lord as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life, Barbara Ann Wilkins.

Calling hours will be held Monday, March 24, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m.

at Ross Funeral Home, 196 Elm Street Champlain, N.Y. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Champlain, in the spring.

Donations in his memory may be made to the North Country Honor Flight.
