Kathy Whalen Obituary

Kathy Whalen, 63, of Angel Avenue, and formerly of Ellenburg, passed away on Nov. 2, 2022, at the CVPH Medical Center with her sister by her side.

She was born in Malone on March 20, 1959, the daughter of Raymond and Evangeline (Tourville) Whalen.

Kathy attended Northern Adirondack Central School before working most of her life on the family farm with her father and brother, Ronnie. After her father passed, she took care of her mother for many years and began babysitting.

Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her sisters and nieces. She loved her pets, Katie, CoCo, Benny and Minnie. She raised goats for many years and even had 30 of them at one time. Kathy also enjoyed gardening, picking berries, baking, canning and playing bingo.

She is survived by her four sisters, Barbara Decosse (Russell), Betty Whalen, Jeanne Trombly (Brent), Carol Hall, and sister-in-law, Joele Whalen. She is also survived by her godchildren, Lacie and Lanie Coolidge and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Marge, brothers, Tuck, Robert and Ronnie, sister-in-law, Nancy Whalen and brothers-in-law, Jim Decosse, Jeff Hall and Frank Town.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home.

A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Donations in Kathy's memory may be made to the Elmore SPCA or North Country Animal Shelter in Malone.
