Jody J. Turnbull
On Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019, Jody J. Turnbull, 63, of the Silver Lake Road, AuSable Forks, died suddenly at his home, following a brief illness.
He was born in Gouverneur, Dec. 20, 1955. He spent several years growing up at SHAPE Belgium, a significant and meaningful time in his life.
Jody had a long-term career with P&C Food Markets, from where he retired.
He lived for his children and grandchildren and lit up anytime they entered a room. Time at his grandson's sporting events, fishing, or hunting, were all favorites of Jody's. In addition, he deeply loved his many friends and Silver Lake Camp family.
Left to cherish the memory of Jody are, his loving wife, Mary Anne (together for 33 years); his mother, Lane of Gouverneur; son, Jody Jr. (wife Molly and daughter Alice) of Ashland, Ala.; son, Christopher (wife Danielle and children Rylee and Liam) of AuSable Forks; daughter, Carry (husband Fred and son Carter) of AuSable Forks; siblings, Willow (Kim), Mary, Melony (Steve), and Lisa; father-in-law, Don; brothers-in-law, Bill (Ro), Fred (Jean), and Cliff (Karel); and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Gene; mother-in-law, Nettie Anne; niece, Nicole; and several other family members.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. An "open to all" reception will follow at 20 Main in AuSable Forks, to continue the celebration of Jody's life.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Jay/Black Brook Youth Commission.
