Seminole, Florida - Jean G. Sullivan, 87, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Largo, Fla.
Jean was born on Dec. 21, 1937, to Arthur and Pauline Chalifour in Providence, R.I.
After graduating from high school in Cranston, R.I., Jean worked for AMICA Insurance Company. During this time, she married Charles Sullivan, with whom she shared her life for 66 years. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always modeling kindness, strength, and resilience.
In 1967, Jean and Charles moved to Rouses Point, N.Y., with their three daughters. While living in Rouses Point, Jean worked at Northeastern Clinton Central School and the Advocacy and Resource Center. In 1994, Jean and Charles left Rouses Point and lived in various locations before settling in Seminole, Fla., in 2019. They both loved the Florida lifestyle and their condo.
Jean was a nurturer — not only caring for her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and family pets, but also cultivating strong, long-lasting relationships with neighbors and friends. Jean, Charlie, and their companions created many wonderful memories during their lives and travels.
Jean was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Charles.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Chalifour (Patricia); her children, Linda Sullivan, Lisa Macnamara (Randy Graves), and Lori Southwick (Steve); her grandchildren, Erin Gorby (Chris), Michael Harrigan (Lauren), Peter Macnamara, Sean Harrigan, Colleen Duniho, William Macnamara, and Megan Macnamara; and her great-grandchildren, Mackinnon Gorby, Isobel Gorby, Callum Harrigan, and Owen Harrigan, along with many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service and Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
