Peru, NY - Henriette Denise Mastic, 89, formerly of the Mud Pond Road, Peru, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Drummondville, Quebec, Dec. 3, 1935, the daughter of Cyprien and Yvonne (Morrisette) Hebert. She was known for her hard work, loving nature, and strong soul. Her presence was cherished by many.

Henriette was known well for her many years as a beautician, many more will remember her for her 20 years of service running the visitors center at the Dannemora Correctional Facility Annex, and a few will remember her for assisting residents at the Begore House in Peru. She finally fully retired in her early 70's.

She had a passion for horses, family, and living a simple life at her off grid home (camp) which she considered her little piece of heaven on earth. She could listen to Elvis sing all day, and was always eager to lend a hand! Henriette had a strong love for the outdoors and carried the reputation as the mountain women that could do anything.

Survivors include her loving son, Michael Mastic; grandsons, Christopher Mastic with partner, Brittany L. Torner, and Garrett Mastic and his wife, Cara; great-grandchildren, Everett J. Mastic, Mavery C. Mastic and Kallan M. Mastic; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

In addition to her parents, Henriette was predeceased by her loving husband of many years, James D. Mastic Sr.; their son, James D. Mastic Jr.; daughter-in-law, Andrea Christensen Mastic; sisters, Brenadette Gregore (Hebert), Clemence Pouliot (Hebert), and Simmonne Taylor Mcfall (Hebert); half sister, Irene Melancon (Hebert); nephew Roy J. Mcfall; and niece, Dianne Martineau.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the cemetery of Mother Cabrini Shrine, 51 Patent Road, Peru, N.Y.

Family and friends are invited to attend a reception following the burial, which will be held at the Peru Community Church Fellowship Center located at 12 Elm St., Peru, N.Y.
