Helen A. O'Neil Obituary

Helen Ann O'Neil was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully in her sleep on July 7, 2024, after a brief illness. She was 92.

Helen was born in Binghamton, N.Y., to Miles J. Haus and Madeleine McDermott Haus. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Bob and her four siblings. Helen is survived by her children, Patrick O'Neil and his wife Martha of Montgomery Village, Md., Ann Badbau and her husband Dennis of Manchester, N.H., John O'Neil and his wife Lisa of St. Augustine, Fla., and Peggy Farabaugh and her husband Ken of Moneta, Va.; eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive her.

Helen enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, dining out at Anthony's Restaurant and volunteering for many local organizations. She was a true cat lady, providing food, shelter and affection for countless homeless cats over the years.

A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at St John's Church in Plattsburgh, N.Y. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
