Heather J. Brassard Obituary

Heather J. Brassard, 62, of Cannon Corners Road, passed away peacefully Sept. 29, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Aug. 18, 1960, daughter of Arleigh and Joan Finlayson.

Heather married Mark Brassard on Aug. 27, 1988, in Ellenburg Center and then renewed their vows on Dec. 20, 1997, at St. Edmund's church.

She loved plants and gardening and adored her many pets over the years. Heather was an avid reader and loved to learn about anything and everything. Her knowledge of strange facts and her immense vocabulary were unmatched!

Heather also enjoyed cooking for her family and especially loved teaching her husband and kids to cook. She was best known, though, for her quick wit and outstanding sense of humor.

Above all else, however, was the love for her family, and nothing brought her greater joy than being a wife and mother.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband Mark Brassard; sons, Devin Brassard and partner Margaret Swick and Dylan Brassard, her baby and loving caregiver; daughter, Bridget Benware and husband Jason; her "one and only" grandson, Emmett Benware; siblings, Kevin (Cathy) Finlayson, Shannon Gibson, Sandy LaBombard, Susan (Leon) Rabideau, Molly Begor, Arlene (Alan) Thibeau, Sheila Lashway, and Staci (Randy) McDonald; along with numerous nieces and nephews, especially Michael, Betsy, and Heidi Lashway and their children.

Heather was predeceased by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clifford Brassard and Ruth Plossick; brothers, Dolan and Jack Finlayson; brothers-in-law, Michael Brassard, Kelley Gibson, and Gary Begor; and nieces, Hilary LaBombard and Joanna Pelkey.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at 11 a.m. in St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Family will receive guests at the church beginning at 10 a.m.

Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country or Elmore SPCA.

Online condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.rabideaufuneralhome.com.

Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the Rabideau Funeral Home, 5614 Route 11, Ellenburg, N.Y.
