Gregory E. LaBarre, "Poppy", age 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 29th, 2023.

Son of the late, Leonard and Marie LaBarre and in-laws, Raymond and Hilda Lagasse.

Greg married his high school sweetheart, Joanne, 55 years ago.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, two daughters, Shawn (Jeffrey) Matthews and Gwen (Gary) Magee, son Travis LaBarre, three grandchildren, Magan Magee (Bryce Moeller), Makenna (Samuel) Beach, and Cameron (Amanda) Matthews. Arriving in July 2024, is his first great-grandchild, Baby Matthews. Greg was the eldest and leaves behind four beautiful sisters, Linda and the late Paul Majer, Susan (Michael) Curry, Donna (Michael) Groover, and Deborah Kajander (Greg Mahanna), along with his in-laws, the late Gary (Shirley) Lagasse, Janet (Jack) Dhaliwal, Linda (Donald) Decker, Susan (David) Smith, and Karen (Richard) Boutin, and several nieces and nephews.

Greg was a proud business owner and operator of family owned LaBarre's Grocery & Liquor Store. He found great enjoyment in playing baseball and watching his beloved Yankees, trips to the casino, playing cards, but most importantly to him, boasting about his children and grandchildren and their successes in life.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ellenburg Center and Depot Fire Departments.
