Gerald J. Frederick, 85, of Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on Aug. 19, 1937, son of the late Smith and Georgiana (Deso) Frederick.

He married the love of his life, Betty (Curry) on Aug. 30, 1957. Together they brought up two sons in the house Gerald lived all his life. Gerald worked 47 years in welding and oxygen for Rene Neveu and Son and then for Merrian Graves until he retired. He loved the New York Giants football team and his back porch. But most of all he loved when his family and friends came to visit.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, as well as his sons' families: Steven (Pam) Frederick of Beekmantown, their children Anastasia (David) Douglas of Barre, Vt., and Amanda (Anthony) Hanson of West Chazy, Timothy (Kate) and their children Rachel and Zachary of Dannemora; also five great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he is predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Roger and a sister, Betty Urquhart.

The family would like to thank Karl, Mike, Dustin, and Jenn. Without their support he would not have been able to stay home as long as he did.

At his request services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court St., Plattsburgh.
