Garven Duval, 91, formerly of Route 11, Ellenburg Depot, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023.

He was born on July 28, 1931, son of Ernest and Olive (Begor) Duval.

Garven married the former Priscilla Jock in 1961 in Albany. Priscilla predeceased him on April 25, 2016.

Garven worked as a Mental Hygiene Therapist for several years at the Harlem Valley State Hospital in Wingdale, N.Y., retiring after 29 years of service.

He was an avid NASCAR fan, and was a member of the VFW Post 5444 in Dover Plains and the American Legion Post 1939 in Wingdale.

Garven is survived by his son, Garven Duval Jr. of Wingdale; two granddaughters, Tara Duval and Hope Rios and her husband, Eber Rios; great-grandson, Gio Rios; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Barbara Jock, Robert and Julie Jock, and Linda and Dave McNeil; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife; and brothers-in-law, Donald Jock and Norman Jock.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 3rd, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will take place at a later date in St. Edmund's Cemetery in Ellenburg.
