Frances Murray Weinhold (Fran) Obituary

Frances Ann Murray Weinhold passed away on June 18, 2024, at the age of 89 at her home in Lone Tree, Colo. Born to Frances and William Murray on April 18, 1935, in Plattsburgh, N.Y. She graduated Saint John's Academy and then The College of Saint Rose in Albany.

Most of her life was lived in Midlothian, Va., where Fran and her husband James Weinhold raised their children until Jim's passing in 1980. She found joy working for Chesterfield County Department of Social Services and then had a second career following her passion for lighting.

Later in life, she fell in love with and married Robert Redfearn. They enjoyed their summers in Midlothian, Va., and winters in Naples, Fla. After Robert's death, she made the bold move with Cindy's family to Colorado where she thrived.

She was a true matriarch who loved her family, especially her six grandchildren. She loved bragging and telling stories about them - and Andrew, her "son-in-law who's a pilot." Some of her fondest memories and stories are of her time spent with her brother, William Murray and his family on Lake Champlain.

Fran was her authentic self, without apology, and that was what was so endearing about her. To say she was loved is an understatement. Through her Irish spunk she taught her family how to live, persevere and truly enjoy life. Her elaborate stories and playful 'naughtiness' will be missed.

She is predeceased by her husband, James Weinhold, son, Chris Weinhold, and second husband, Robert Redfearn. Fran's memory is honored by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Andrew Long; her grandchildren, Margaret and Millie Weinhold, and Zac, Caroline, Katie and Tobin Long; her brother and sister-in-law, William and Barbara Murray and their children: Mike and Kim Murray, Sue and Charlie Chiappone, Ann and Kevin Bushey, Dave and Biz Murray, Sheila and Howard Galligan, and Paul and Debbie Murray.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 29th, at 1 p.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Midlothian, Va.
