Dorothy M. "Dot" (Rusek) Wellspeak, 84, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Philadelphia to Alphonse and Dorothy Rusek, she was educated in Adams, Mass. and graduated from Adams High School class of 1950. Dot lived in Albany for many years and worked as office assistant at St. James Church until her retirement. She was a Communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Dot enjoyed playing bingo, watching her beloved Buffalo Bills and Boston Red Sox and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Nelson J. Wellspeak (Sue) of Texas, Dennis Wellspeak of Alexander, N.Y., John Wellspeak (Shawn Morris) of Albany, Michelle Turnbull (Thomas) of Batavia, N.Y., Colette Wellspeak Lawless (Marty) of Colonie, Debra Wellspeak of Albany and Chris Wellspeak of Alexander, N.Y.; her sisters, Gertrude Burdick of Florida and Mary Ann "Micky" McGee of Texas; her 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sat., Jan. 21, 2017 in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 391 Delaware Ave.
