Dora M. Bushey Obituary
Dora M. Bushey, 99, of Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Meadowbrook in Plattsburgh. She was born on June 28, 1925, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Provost) Bushey.
Dora started working for Trombley's Potato Chips at a young age and then went onto Diamond International, Pal Blade, Hydro Molding, and retired from Imperial Paper Mill.
She was a member of the Polaris Women's Bowling League, Clinton County Home Bureau, and Champlain Valley Quilter's Guild.
Dora was truly selfless when it came to her family and was always there for us no matter what. Gram was devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent years as their chauffeur making sure they always got to where they needed to be. She was their driving instructor, helping them prepare for their road test. She loved cooking for them; her Shepherd's pie and fried bread dough were the best.
Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie (John) Burdo; grandchildren, Barry (Megan) Burdo and Lisa (Jeffrey) Berman; great-grandchildren, Brett (Tianna) Burdo and Jenna Burdo and her fiance Cyle, Maisy Berman and Lydie Berman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Albert, Lyia, Beatrice, Andrew, Verna and Roy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., officiated by Rev. William Reamer. Entombment will follow at the Town of Plattsburgh Community Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
