SMSGT David W. Valenze, USAF Retired, 82, of Champlain, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024 at his home under the care of family and Hospice of the North Country.

David was born Oct. 12, 1942 in Plattsburgh to William and Marilyn (Murray) Valenze.

After graduating from Champlain Central School, Class of 1960, he joined the Air Force and proudly served his country for twenty years, during which time he was stationed in four foreign countries and seven states.

David, after 17 years, retired from Wyeth. His final employment was his dream job working part-time for Siemens on their equipment in area prisons, hospitals and Wyeth.

David was an Eagle Scout, Boy Scout Leader, Vietnam Veteran, Member of American Legion Post 912 and VFW Post 1418, Golfer, Bicycler, Handyman, Softball and Volleyball player and loved the 24 winters he spent in Florida.

David is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Doris, daughter Leeanne, sons David (Kristie) and Christopher (Karen), his grandchildren Nicholas (Natalie), Jacob, Zadia and Adelia, his sister Kitty's children Katrina (Tony) DiPietro and Pamela Moffitt and Pamela's son Theodore as well as several other nieces and nephews, Step Brother Guy (Kathy) Favreau, Brothers in law Douglas Filion, Gary (Carol) Filion and Howard Pepin as well as several cousins.

David was predeceased by his parents and their spouses William and Orva Valenze and Marilyn and Guy Favreau, sister Kathryn (Kitty) Moffitt, Step Brother Stephan Favreau and his wife Judy, Parents in law Albert and Mae Filion, Sisters in law Patricia Pepin and Bonnie Filion, Brothers in law and their wives Joseph "George" and Dora Filion and Harvey and June Filion and nephew Jeff Filion.

A Mass of Christion Burial and Celebration of Life will be held in May.
