Plattsburgh, NY - Charlotte A. Wells, 87, of Plattsburgh, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 9th, at CVPH with her daughters, son-in-law, and special nieces by her side.

She was born in Plattsburgh on Jan. 29, 1938, the oldest daughter to Robert and Ruby (Chase) Murphy. Charlotte graduated from Peru Central School.

She married Melvin Mischler in Plattsburgh on Oct. 15, 1958. Following his death in 1987, she later married Gary Wells of Plattsburgh. He predeceased her in 1997.

She worked as a secretary for the Plumbers and the Teamsters Unions and for Clute Wealth Management until she retired at the young age of 84.

She loved her gardens, cooking and baking, and sharing her delicious food with family and friends. Charlotte enjoyed her trips to the casino and trying her luck at NYS scratch-off games. She was known and adored for her quiet thoughtful nature and was the keeper of the family's stories and history.

Left to cherish the memory of Charlotte are her daughters, Susan (Richard) Faber of Rochester, N.Y., and Tammy (James) Langley of Peru, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Derek and Ashley Geier of Rochester, N.Y., Tiffany (Chad) Wysocki of Latham, N.Y., and Tyler (Elora) Langley of Peru, N.Y.; great-grandchildren, Ava Hadsell, Peyton and Jackson Wysocki, and Silas and Elowyn Langley; sisters, Linda Conners and Jane (Richard) Crossley; her bonus daughter and dear family friend, Tammy Rawleigh; and many special nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Charlotte was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Murphy, David Murphy and Sharon Murphy; and special sister-in-law, Betty Jean Murphy.

Burial will be held at the convenience of her family in the Schuyler Falls Cemetery. A celebration of Charlotte's life will be held Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at a location and time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Charlotte may be made to the Sharon Murphy Scholarship Fund (C/O Peru Central School, 17 School Street, Peru, NY 12972) or the Morrisonville Volunteer Ambulance Service (21 Banker Road, Morrisonville, NY 12962).
