Plattsburgh, NY - Charles "Terry" Polhemus, 81, passed away Aug. 21, 2026.

Terry was born on Sept. 19, 1944, to Charles T. and Gladys (LaValley) Polhemus.

He is survived by his caretaker and beloved wife, Dee, and their two sons, Todd and Greg; his two sisters, Jaquie Binion-Clark and Kathi Latour; and his two beautiful granddaughters, Ashley LaVarnway and Kayla Geoghagan, now living in Florida.

After graduating from OLVA he spent 11 ½ years at Georgia Pacific and then went on to work for the City of Plattsburgh where he retired as a Supervisor for the Department of Public Works. Terry then worked part-time at OLV Church, a job he loved.

Deceased members of the family are his siblings, Townsend "Doc" Polhemus and his wife, Theresa, Bruyn Polhemus, Sylvia Bethel, Mary Ellen Johnson and Peter Polhemus; and his in-laws, Arnold and Gert Burdo and David Burdo.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday, August 29th, at 11 a.m. in OLV Church in Plattsburgh, followed by a reception. Peace to all.

Burial will take place at a later date in St. Peter's Cemetery.
