76, of Peru, passed away suddenly yet peacefully at home on Feb. 13, 2025, with his wife by his side.

Born on Oct. 28, 1948 to Fred & Gladys (McCormick) O'Connor of Chateaugay, he grew up on the family farm, he was a fun-loving guy with multiple names, often referred to as Charlie, Chuck, or Chich.

A Chateaugay High School graduate in1968, he earned Master's degrees and ultimately had a career as a Guidance Counselor at the John F. Kennedy School in Winooski, VT.

Chuck married Julie Plotas on May 26,1990 at St. Augustine Catholic Church of Peru, NY.

He is survived by his wife, Julie O'Connor; five step children: Laura, Stephen, Karen, Paul, and Phil (Ann). Additionally, he is survived by nine brothers: John, Doug, Jerry (Gail), Paul (Barbara), Pat (Joan), Robert (Elaine), Mike, Clark, Kevin O'Connor and

two sisters Jean Lavaroni and June (Roger) Jesmain. A large extended family remains with over 40 nieces and nephews and more than 60 great nieces and nephews.

Chuck had the "gift of gab", he was always available for a lengthy conversation with anyone that had the time. His interests included traveling, camping (which he did quite extensively with Julie) and genealogy.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025 from 2 to 4 PM at Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Rd, Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 22 at 11 AM at St. Patrick's Church in Chateaugay, followed by a reception at the American Legion Post 875 in Chateaugay, N.Y.
