Arlene F. Johnson
Born on Dec. 25, 1929, in Lyon Mountain, N.Y., she was the daughter of Clifford and Freda (Davis) Cayea.
She was married to Phillip Johnson on Sept. 7, 1957, in St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain. He predeceased her in 1984.
Mrs. Johnson was employed as a caterer for 25 years. She cleaned St. John's Church for 20 years. She was a communicant of St. Bernard's Church and lifetime member of the choir. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters and Lyon Mountain American Legion Post 1623 Auxiliary. Mrs. Johnson began the church dinners and was in charge of them for 16 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Margaret Johnson of Gloucester, Mass., JoAnn Forkey and her husband, Larry of Lyon Mountain, Beth Guzman and her husband, Pete of Lancaster, Pa.; five grandchildren, Nicole Matoza and her husband, Bruce, Benjamin Forkey and his wife, Brittney, Christopher Forkey and his wife, Katrina, Peter Guzman and his wife, Sammy, Viola Forkey; a grandson-in-law, Jonathon Collins; ten great-grandchildren, Kyla, Alison, Max, Blake, Ethan, Alexandria, John, Kadance, Clark and Hudson; six brothers and sisters, Patrick Cayea and his companion, Rhonda McKee of Lyon Mountain, Anthony Cayea and his wife, Alice of Lyon Mountain, Donald "Joe" Cayea and his wife, Lori of Lyon Mountain, Jeannie LaMare of Lyon Mountain, Floyd Cayea and his wife, Christine of Cadyville, Mary Louise Murtha and her husband, Tim of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; a granddaughter, Shannon Collins; four brothers, Clifford "Bill", John "Pug", Roger and Frederick "Peanut" Cayea; two sisters, Jeanette Miller and Lucille Ducharme.
Calling hours will be held at St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain on Friday, June 14, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at noon.
Entombment will take place at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens, Ellenburg Depot.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Lyon Mountain American Legion Post 1623.
