Anna Loretta Burns Obituary

Anna Loretta Burns, 77, of State Route 22, Peru, went to her Savior the Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country.

She was born in Regina, Ky., Aug. 26, 1946, the daughter of Samuel and Nora (Woods) Bertolet. Anna graduated from Lower Bucks County High School in 1964. She earned an Associate Degree in Radiology at Lower Bucks County Hospital in 1966.

Anna married her one true love, Raymond Burns, on Sept. 28, 1968, in Bristol, Pa., by the Reverend Robert G Burns. They enjoyed a full life together raising three boys in Peru, N.Y. Anna was an X-Ray Tech in Saranac Lake, Lake Placid and finished her career at Elizabethtown Community Hospital.

Anna was a devout Christian her entire life; she was a member of Bible Baptist Church and the Independent Baptist Church in Keeseville, N.Y. Anna was a sweet and caring person who touched the lives of many in a positive way. One of her favorite versus: II Corinthians 5:8, to be absent from the body, and to be to be present with the Lord.

Anna cherished the outdoors, especially around her home. She loved to spend her time gardening, cross country skiing in the fields, downhill skiing at her beloved Whiteface, boating on Lake Champlain, hiking, kayaking with Molly and Ray, tennis and golf. Anna also had a love of horses and owned one for most of her life.

Left to cherish the memory of Anna are her husband, Raymond Burns of Peru, N.Y.; sons, Ryan Burns of Port Kent, N.Y., and partner Mandy Yates, Noah and Tina Burns of Fairport, N.Y.; grandsons, Jack and Lukas and their mother, Jodi Lattrell of Port Kent, N.Y.; and a brother-in-law, Douglas Burns of Philadelphia, Pa.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Ian Raymond Burns in 2004; and her sister, Gloria Bertolet.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the family residence, 2589 State Route 22, Peru, NY 12972.

Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country or the Independent Baptist Church of Keeseville, N.Y.
