Alicia O'Brien Waldron, age 91, passed away on July 29, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Alicia was born on May 31, 1933, to Mary and Peter O'Brien in Ogdensburg, N.Y. Alicia graduated from St. Mary's High School in Ogdensburg and earned a Registered Nursing degree at A. Hepburn Hospital School of Nursing in 1953.

She married George E. Waldron on July 26, 1958. During their 56 year marriage, they raised five children and adored their ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. They became owner/operator of the Northern Lights Restaurant in Clayburg, N.Y., from 1962 - 1976.

Alicia then returned to nursing at Meadowbrook Nursing Home until her retirement in 1984. Alicia was a devout Catholic of the Assumption of Mary Church. She cherished family-time, especially their summers at Silver Lake and winters in Zephyrhills, Fla. She loved the beach, shopping, gardening, reading, and an occasional trip to the casino and horse races.

Alicia is survived by five of six children, Jeanne (Jeffrey) Ludwig, James Waldron, Molly LaMora, Karen (George) Waldron-Munson, and Gary (Mindy) Waldron. Alicia is survived by her sister-in-law, Rita Devan and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her loving husband, and a young daughter Mary, her parents, brothers and sisters-in law, Joseph (Helen) O'Brien, Donald (Kathleen) O'Brien; Mary (John) Cook, Helen (John) Coffey, Mary (Leo) Bourey, Donald (Rachel) Waldron, and Gerald Devan.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Assumption of Mary Catholic Church, Redford, N.Y., with Rev. Michael Jablonski, parish priest, celebrating and Rev. Kevin J. O'Brien, concelebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center, CVPH, Plattsburgh.
