William "Billy Blue"'s Story
William "Billy Blue" Bechore, 74, of Emmons Street, Dannemora, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 10, 1942, in Springfield, Mass., the son of the late William and Rosamay (Reyell) Bechore.
During his younger years, William worked for Dock and Coal in Plattsburgh. He later went to work for Northern Sanitation and retired from Casella Waste Management after several years. William was always "on the go" and enjoyed traveling to the homes of friends and family to spend time visiting and sharing stories. He also enjoyed talking with others on his CB Radio, which is where he received his nickname "Billy Blue."
Survivors include his wife, Rose (Carter) Bechore of Dannemora; three children, Laura Bechore of Saranac, Catherine Bechore of Plattsburgh, and Joseph Bechore of Dannemora; four grandchildren, Joshua Bechore, Alyssa Bechore, Dylan Stoughton, and Ronnie Bechore; one sister, Rosalie Snyder of Bloomingdale, N.Y.; one brother, Richard Bechore of Lake Placid; his loving and devoted canine companion, Freddie; and several nieces and nephews.
William was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Annamay C. Carter and Caroline Kurtz; and one brother, Harold Bechore.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
Burial will be private and take place in Assumption Cemetery in Redford.
