Walter's Story

Walter R. "Walt" LaDuke, 81, of the Pellerin Road, Plattsburgh, died Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH with his loving family by his side.
He was born in AuSable Forks, Aug. 28, 1935, the son of Roger and Rita (Furnia) LaDuke.
Walter (Duke as he was known in the service) was a retired Air Force Vietnam Veteran 1952 -1973; he was very proud of his service to his country. He loved NASCAR racing and enjoyed numerous trips with his daughter to the races. He enjoyed most sports and playing golf with his sons. He loved his grandchildren and family of nieces and nephew and was always up for a family BBQ. He also enjoyed his two loyal companions, Coco and Odie, who loved going for rides with Grampa in his truck and getting treats from him all day long.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Angie (Hebert) LaDuke; children, Denise LaDuke, David (Laurie) LaDuke; daughter-in-law, Michelle LaDuke; grandchildren, Nicole (Jon) Bombard, Joanne (Ken) Pelno, Lauren LaDuke, Casey (Cristina) LaDuke, Emily (Arthur) Turlak; great-grandsons, David Jon Bombard and Walter Daniel Pelno; great-granddaughter, Taylor Garrand; sister, Gean Darrah; brothers, Jack (Nancy) LaDuke, William (Diane) LaDuke; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Trombley, Ginger LaDuke, Susan LaDuke; brother-in-law, Ernie (Betty) Hebert; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Daniel LaDuke; brother, Eli LaDuke; sister, Theresa DeRusso; brothers-in-law, Paul DeRusso, John Thaler, George Darrah, Ray Trombley, Jack Nelson; sister-in-law, Julia Nelson; nephews, Tom Thaler, Bill Nelson; Niece, Barbara Nelson, and great-nephew, Seth Darrah.
Services will be held at a later date.
