Viola Duffy Chevalier passed away peacefully on April 10th, 2017. Viola was born on July 31st, 1920 in Churubusco, NY to the late Minnie (Baylake) and Francis Xavier Duffy, and lived a long healthy life.
During her working career Viola worked at Remington Arms during the war making ammunition, later she was an executive assistant at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT. In 1972 she became a Licensed Practical Nurse working at St. Vincent's Emergency Department in Bridgeport, CT. Viola retired to Point Au Fer Champlain NY. In 2004 Viola returned to Connecticut to live near her children. Viola's last few years were spent at Filosa Nursing Home and Rehab Facility in Danbury, CT. We are thankful to the staff for their care and kindness.
Viola is survived by her daughter Sharron Beck (Husband Walter) of Monroe CT, son Gary Chevalier (wife LouAnn) of Newtown CT and daughter Bonnie Sirois of Sandy Hook CT. Viola's grandchildren are Kirsten Beck Butkovsky (husband Michael), Brian Beck (wife Renee), Lauren Beck, Paul Sirois (wife Carrie), Andrew Sirois (wife Janny), and Michael Chevalier. As well as, thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. One surviving brother Bernard Duffy (wife Eve) of Rouses Point NY.
Viola was predeceased by her parents, her husband Paul Chevalier, brothers John, Francis, Gordon, Charles, Donald and sister Theresa Duffy Gilpin.
Funeral arrangements will be private and will be held at a later date.
