Steven Paul Anderson, 61, of Lovettsville, Va., formerly Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away on June 30, 2017, at his residence.
Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., to Thomas A. Anderson and Patricia (Stevens) Anderson, he graduated from Beekmantown High School in 1974. He was a retired member of the Steamfitter/Welder L.U. 773 and L.U. 602 Plattsburgh/Glens Falls, N.Y., and Washington D.C. and a longtime member of of Wolf Pond Mt. Club Camp Kettle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing days on Lake Ontario, Lake Champlain and Wolf Pond and spending time with family, friends and loved ones.
Steve married Susan Lemieux on Jan. 16, 1982, which ended with her death on Nov. 23, 1993. They had three children: Ashley, Paul and Kristen. Steve later married Shanna Tucker on Jan. 20, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Shanna Tucker Anderson, mother Patricia A. Anderson, brothers Daniel (Scott Waters) of Schuyler Falls, N.Y., John (Kelly) of Watertown, N.Y., children Ashley (Jason) Legault of Delson, Quebec, Paul (Kylie) of Trenton, N.J., Kristen Anderson of Boston, Mass., stepchildren, Taryn Barney of Lovettsville, Va., Sean Barney of Charleston, S.C., and his grandchildren, Colyn, Trynity, Mackenzye, Landen, Halle and Camden, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Susan Lemieux Anderson, father Thomas A. Anderson, grandparents George and Elizabeth Anderson, Paul and Claracie Stevens and uncles George A. Anderson and Paul H. Stevens.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, N.Y. A gathering at the American Legion on Rand Hill Road in Morrisonville will take place following the service.
