Norman's Story

Norman Louis Hendrix, 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at his Point au Roche home surrounded by his loving family. He succumbed to a short battle with ALS.
Norman was a passionate, hardworking man who enjoyed traveling the world with his loving wife, Katherine and spending time with their children and grandchildren. He enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, fishing, horseshoes, gardening and landscaping, building and working with his hands, bowling, going to the casino and was always looking forward to the next adventure.
Norman is survived by his wife Katherine, daughters Tricia Hendrix-Miner and her partner Stephen Desotelle of Morrisonville, Tammie Hendrix and her partner Matthew Gilpin of Saranac, Tracy Raven and her husband Phil of Natural Bridge, and his four stepchildren, Matthew Gladue and his wife Tina of Stafford, Va., Stephanie Lacombe of Plattsburgh, Luke Gladue and his wife Terri of Clifton Park, and Brendan Gladue of Troy. He is already missed greatly by his grandchildren, Brittany, Zachary, Natalie and Nolan, Adriana and Alaina, Easton and Shawn, Brooke, Summer and Christian, Hayden, Oliver and Alexis, and Ashley, Joshua and Haley. He is also survived by his two brothers, Michael Riolo and his wife Lisa of Rome, N.Y., and Nicholas Riolo and his wife, Judy of Earlville, N.Y. Norman was predeceased by his mother, Betty (Thom) Riolo, his brother Robert E. Hendrix and his infant son, Robert Hendrix.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29th, at the Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh, N.Y. Words of remembrance to celebrate his life will begin at 2:30 p.m.
